S/S 2019 Bathroom Colour Trends

As the summer months start to creep in, we’re looking at the new shades that will really make your bathroom pop! Summer brings a whole host of new hues, along with beautiful summer lighting that can be accentuated with the right decor. In this blog, we’re going to look at some of the must-have colour trends for spring/summer 2019. From bold, bright tones to the new class of muted neutral shades, there’s something to suit all bathrooms this season.

New Neutral

The classic, neutral bathroom is always going to be on trend, offering a minimalistic look that works for both traditional and contemporary spaces. Whether the room is decorated in all neutral tones or accent colours are brought in to give it an extra splash of style, this toned down look is ideal for anyone looking to replicate those ‘luxury-spa’ vibes.

To update a neutral bathroom, we recommend switched from the standard white, cream or beige to the new neutral shade on the block, mink. This warm, inviting shade is incredibly versatile and works perfectly as a solo colour or incorporated into a colour scheme.

S/S Jewel Tones

Jewel tones aren’t just for winter, especially when you opt for one of our favourite S/S bathroom shades, amethyst. This purple hue is similar to last year’s Pantone Colour of the Year, Ultra-Violet, however, it is lighter and brighter to give your bathroom a flash of truly regal style. We recommend using this as a feature wall colour so that you don’t overwhelm a small space.

Amethyst works perfectly with bold bathroom furnishings, in particular, metallic accents. We love seeing this popular shade next to our rose gold accessories range, the perfect pairing for an elegant bathroom space.

Good enough to eat…

Raspberry is a fantastic shade to add to any room, but we absolutely love seeing it featured in the bathroom! This fun, energetic colour brings life into any space and works perfectly with white bathroom fixtures and fittings like a stone bath, basin or vanity unit. Use this colour sparingly as a little really does go a long way. We recommend incorporating raspberry tones through your bathroom accessories. Think towels, art prints, blinds and ornaments that will contrast perfectly against a muted backdrop. If you do want to add more raspberry into your bathroom, opt for a feature wall or a wallpaper with hints of the shade.

Green with (bathroom) envy

There was a time when a green bathroom would have us conjuring images of avocado bathroom suites, but today, green is one of the most popular shades for contemporary spaces. Whereas forest and emerald green reign supreme in the winter, S/S ‘19 is all about spring green, a light hue with mid-tones that is ideal for bathrooms of all sizes.

Green is often used to encourage mindfulness and a connection with nature, creating a sense of tranquillity that is ideal for the one room in the house where you want to unwind! Subtle enough to be used as the focal colour throughout the bathroom, this is a great bathroom revamp shade that will look great paired with our brushed gold accessories range and a statement freestanding stone bath.

Tickled Pink

Dusky pink has been a firm favourite of interior decorators for a while now, and the shade shows no signs of going anywhere soon! Dusky pink is ideal for bathrooms, especially during the lighter months. The clean, light, airy hue works fabulously with marble accents and glossy white fixtures. Use as the focal colour of the bathroom and further accentuate the shade with flashes of greenery and statement taps such as our matte black or gunmetal taps range.
