Customer Profile: Lusso Stone / Kamila Henley

We recently got in touch with one of our clients, the amazing Kamila Henley from @halfminimalhome. Kamila talked us through her project, design ethos, future projects, and her thoughts on LUSSO. Kamila, from Barrington Illinois, is a home design enthusiast who has recently undertaken a full home remodel focused around her minimal design aesthetic

How would you describe your design style?

I consider myself a minimalist. I appreciate clean lines and simple shapes. I’m not a fan of embellishment or busy patterns. Even though minimalist style can seem to be cold or sterile to some, I find peace and beauty in its simplicity. I’m a firm believer that less is more, and that is what I try to apply in my design and life in general.

Can you give us some background on your project?

A few years ago we’ve purchased a Mid Century Modern home in Barrington, Illinois that was designed and built by Richard and Rosemary Libby in 1967. He was an engineer and she was an artist, who has been very much influenced by Frank Llyod Wright. The house has been previously expanded and remodeled multiple times before we bought it, probably in the late 90’s. Gold fixtures, lots of patterns everything mismatched really. We bought this house knowing we will have to remodel it all.

Master Bathroom was the first room we remodeled. It wasn’t an easy task to design the Master Bathroom, as space was limited, and I had to make sure that it will be nicely combined with the laundry room. In order to divide the space seamlessly, we opted for a shower room and laundry room side by side. That way I was able to achieve the SPA-like feel for the Master Bathroom, with a freestanding bathtub in the shower room and a separate, tucked-away laundry room.

What attracted you to Lusso Stone products?

All I wanted for my master bathroom was simple, matte black faucets and a shower system. Products available on the US market didn’t meet my expectation. I didn’t really care for overdone design or totally overpriced products. I spent hours searching google and then I came across Lusso Product on Houzz. You have no idea how happy I was! Your product was exactly what I was looking for. You also had fantastic reviews there so I decided to purchase your product.

What finish did you opt for, and how did this tie in with your decor & overall style?

I decided to go with Matte Black set: wall-mounted faucets, shower system with hand-held shower as well bathtub faucet and hand-held shower. I had chosen Matte Black as it works so well with our matte white wall tiles and concrete tiles.

How was your experience dealing with Deliveries & Customer Service from Lusso Stone?

My experience dealing with Deliveries and Customer Service was nothing short of wonderful. Because the package was shipping internationally, I made a payment with PayPal, Invoice was prepared for me in a matter of hours really, and the product was shipped a few days after. UPS did lose my package and Lusso Customer Service helped me with the replacement order with no problem.

What has been favourite Lusso Stone product?

There are so many. Honestly. Lately, I have been looking at your bathroom vanities. But if I had to choose one it would be most likely be your freestanding tub. It is just spectacular. Simple, elegant with just the right amount of curves. Sublime!

What projects do you have planned for the future?

As always I have few projects lined up, but next in line there is kids/guest bathroom. No surprise here I will be ordering Matte Black Faucets and Shower system from Lusso. This bathroom will have a bit different feel as I’m going with terrazzo floors and small vertical white tiles, but still after a minimal feel here as well.
