When it comes to designing your ideal bathroom, choosing the right material for your statement bath is a key decision. To help you make the right call and create the perfect at-home sanctuary, here we explore the unique characteristics of the different options we offer at Lusso, ranging from natural stone to forged carbon fibre.

FLAWLESS DURASTONE

Combining beauty and practicality, Durastone is made from a refined blend of pure, powdered limestone which is expertly cast with superior performance resin. The solid, composite stone is of the highest quality, with no layers or points of weakness, enabling us to create smooth, modern shapes such as our iconic Picasso Freestanding Stone Bath.

As well as remarkable durability, strength and tactility, Durastone is resistant to scratches, stains and cracks, which is why all of our stone baths and basins come with a lifetime promise. It also has an exceptional look and feel that’s warm to the touch, with a radiant, natural white finish that’s consistent across our collections.

Translucent Resin

Perfect for modern settings, translucent resin enables light to pass through it, which gives it a reflective, luminous quality and creates a captivating focal point when paired with a bold design.

As the only piece in our collection to be crafted using the contemporary material, the Amore Freestanding Resin Bath exemplifies why resin is an increasingly desirable choice within luxury settings. With its striking shape and glossy finish, the bath is expertly moulded, cured and hand finished to ensure that it lasts a lifetime, and it comes in deep, rich tones of smoked black or amber.

Traditional Cast Iron

Used to create bathtubs since the 1800s, cast iron offers lasting strength and durability. As well as being resistant to chipping and scratching, it’s also an effective heat conductor, enabling you to enjoy long, hot soaks.

Using high quality molten iron, our cast iron baths are expertly moulded to create traditional, enduring designs such as the Connaught - a clawfoot bathtub with an elegant roll top shape. All of the cast iron baths in our collection are also carefully finished with a protective enamel coating to retain their stunning aesthetic.

Opulent Marble

Synonymous with luxury bathing for millenia due to its opulence, strength, and distinctive design qualities, marble is a timeless choice for both traditional and contemporary interiors. The highly coveted material is hard wearing, heat retentive, relatively easy to clean, and comes in a wide range of colours and patterns.

Every piece of quarried marble is also entirely unique as a result of the geological formation process of the natural material, where minerals are recrystallized and reorganised under high pressure and heat to create distinctive swirls and veins. This can vary from delicate and subtle patterns, as seen on the Carrara Marble Muse Freestanding Bath, right through to big and bold stripes, such as those featured on the Panda Marble Designo Freestanding Bath.

Forged Carbon Fibre

Synonymous with some of the fastest and most beautiful luxury supercars ever created, forged carbon fibre delivers a dark and dramatic aesthetic. Made from a composite of tightly compressed carbon fibres, the material has a perfectly smooth finish and features a dappled monochrome pattern that, like natural marble, is completely unique from one piece to the next.

As well as striking good looks, the specialist material offers incredible strength and lasting robustness while remaining relatively light in weight. It can also be shaped into sleek silhouettes, exemplified by the Lusso Vivere - the world’s first freestanding bath to be crafted using the innovative material.
