We talk design and architecture with the creative duo behind PK Architects, and find out more about their latest conceptual project - One Forest Hill - which provides the perfect setting for our Zen Freestanding Japanese Soaking Bath.

With the ultimate goal to improve people's lives through the beauty of design, Alla Koktysheva and Volodymyr Piurko went into partnership in 2007 to form their namesake architectural practice. Today, they're a renowned name in the industry, having designed a huge number of stunning private houses, commercial buildings and interiors across Ukraine and Canada.

Situated in the heart of Toronto's most glamorous district, One Forest Hill is one of the most recent residential projects from PK Architects - an 1860 sq ft apartment with spectacular hilltop views of the surrounding city. Its striking interior brings together circular shapes, fluid lines, and a monochrome palette with emerald and sage green accents to create an aesthetic that embodies modern luxury. The home also features multiple statement pieces and surfaces for maximum visual impact, including curvaceous seating, beautiful marble flooring throughout, our flawless soaking bath, and a glass enclosed walk-in wardrobe for ultimate opulence.

The Zen Freestanding Japanese Soaking Bath creates a tranquil focal point within the striking interior designed by PK Architects

How do you tailor your designs to specific client requirements?

We take architecture and design as inseparable disciplines. None of them can exist without each other and the interaction between these disciplines creates complete environments when they come together and form a single concept.

How does it feel to see your concept designs become a reality?

We aim to create an exquisite interior that reflects the client's dreams for their home and evokes a feeling that's appropriate to the space. We are filled with a sense of delight when we see how our idea takes shape and is realised in the material world. This inspires us a lot.

Fluid lines, mixed textures and a monochrome palette create a modern luxe aesthetic across One Forest Hill

Opulent, contemporary and curvaceous - the perfect setting for our Zen bath

What has been your most rewarding project so far?

We really love a project we’ve been working on for PROFITROLI - a chain of pastry stores in Odessa, Ukraine - and we’re currently designing the seventh location. We decided to experiment and try something new, and convinced the client to use really bright colours. The project was shortlisted from over 4,700 entrants from 87 countries for the Restaurant and Bar Interior Dezeen Awards 2021.

Can you tell us how you choose the ideal products for your designs?

Your object must be out of time. We apply trends in decorative elements, which can be replaced at any time so that everything can look on trend again. We also use natural materials that are not tied to time.

Lusso is perfect for our style and the products perfectly complement the modern classic interior. No other products fit this concept so perfectly.
