The valley takes its name from the River Ribble which starts life in the shadow of the Yorkshire three peaks, flowing through Settle, Clitheroe, Ribchester, and Preston before emptying into the Irish Sea near Lytham. The valley is popular with tourists who enjoy the natural unspoilt beauty, much of which lies within the Forest of Bowland. Transformed from tired offices into incredible living spaces, this spectacular Georgian property situated in Lancashire has been fully restored to its former glory. Following an ambitious renovation, its interior perfectly blends period features with modern touches, and showcases a number of statement pieces from our collections.

Can you tell us a little about your property?

It’s a four-storey detached, Grade 2 listed Georgian building located in the centre of a market town in the Ribble Valley. We bought it four years ago – it hadn’t been a residential building for 80 years, having been offices for the last 30 years. We undertook a considerable renovation project, converting the building back into a large house and two Airbnb apartments.

What was the key objective when designing your bathrooms?

We have three bathrooms in the main house, and wanted to achieve a clean, unfussy and timeless look that fits with the period features while also adding a modern edge.

What inspired your bathroom interiors?

We worked with an interior designer, but also had clear ideas of our own. Our top floor had a different feel to the rest of the house – with lower ceilings, beams, exposed stonework and roof windows – so for that area we chose a more modern look with matte black fittings. It’s a large space and allowed us to have a beautiful freestanding bath as a key feature.

The master ensuite and dressing room is also a large room with 12ft ceilings, and we wanted to create a deluxe hotel ambience, so added a wet room and elegant stone bath as key features. The guest ensuite is more intimate, so we used dark tiles and contrasted them with gold fittings to add a luxe feel.

Why did you choose Lusso?

The clean design styles, beautiful stone baths which look far more expensive than they are, and the timeless and wonderful quality. Lusso also has a great choice of different styles and finishes to choose from.

We loved the stone baths as soon as we saw them. They have clean, modern lines and look really expensive. They’re also extremely comfortable to relax in, and they keep water at a warm temperature for ages.
